The war has cost Ukraine more than 10,000 lives. It has cost Ukraine more than $300 billion. It has also cost Ukraine about 2 million refugees, who fled the conflict and continue to live in camps or with friends or relatives outside of the country.
The conflict between Russia-backed rebels and Ukrainian forces has claimed 1,711 Ukrainian military personnel so far, including at least 605 deaths according to the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNDOC). Meanwhile the International Committee of Red Cross (ICRC) said that it had registered over 1 million internally displaced persons since 2014 when fighting started in eastern Ukraine’s Donbass region.
